About Mark E. Clayton
Hello, my name is Mark. I have been in the fire service for over 30 years now and married to my wife Kellene more than 28 years. My wife and I have raised 2 daughters who are currently both collegiate athletes, one an Olympic Weightlifter, and one a Soccer player. I’ve been a professional Firefighter with Central Pierce Fire & Rescue for the last 23 years, and I’m still on the front lines as an Engine Driver and Peer Support Team Lead. As a Certified Sports Nutrition Advisor and health coach, I also work at helping individuals and groups achieve their optimum health and performance goals.
My passion is in helping others to obtain and maintain one’s physical and mental health so they can participate in their own life as their best self, and maximize the joy in their relationships to the fullest. I understand how a lack of health can lead down the road to pain and suffering both physically and mentally. Since 2017 I have worked diligently and successfully to reverse several of my own detrimental health issues such as the beginnings of an auto immune disease, hypothyroidism, mercury poisoning, a mutated gene, intestinal permeability-( leaky gut ), and Low Testosterone. These all stemmed from the many years of high stress, crazy work life balance, sports injuries, and on the job sleep deprivation.
My involvement in peer support has also allowed me to work as a peer in helping my fellow first responders heal from the toxic effects of Post Traumatic Stress Injuries at the West Coast Post Trauma Retreats here in the Northwest.
